Reading account records

Your account.
Clearer records.

Compare an account record with your receipts and prepare questions for the SACCO about anything unclear.

Four practical steps.

01

Confirm the period and source.

Ask the SACCO how to obtain an account record through an approved channel. Check the period it covers and store it securely. Do not upload it to this website.

02

Match each entry.

Check the date, description and amount. Match money in and money out to the evidence you kept. List any unfamiliar or missing entry.

03

Ask about charges and pending items.

Ask about any charge you do not understand or payment not yet shown. Confirm how displayed balances and unfinished transactions affect the amount available to use.

04

Follow up the items you noted.

Contact the SACCO promptly about an unfamiliar item. Note the date, any reference provided and the response. Keep the original record unchanged and store explanations separately.
